Mitsubishi Motors is no stranger to innovation. The automaker has teamed up with Chamberlain Group to bring the myQ® Connected Garage program to the My Mitsubishi Connect service.
With myQ®, you’ll be able to remotely control your garage door right from your dashboard. James Trainor, Vice President General Manager of Automotive for Chamberlain Group, explained that garage doors can usually only be opened and closed when you’re directly in front of them. That’s why myQ® is looking to shake things up.
“myQ Smart Vehicle Access allows Mitsubishi to integrate smart garage control capabilities within the car’s in-dash touch screen, allowing drivers to safely control, secure, and monitor their garage door from wherever they are on their journey,” Trainor explained. “With myQ Connected Garage, they can stay connected to home and know that their garage is secure.”
This convenient new feature will make its debut on the 2022 Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross. You’ll be able to access it via the 8-inch smartphone-link display. But if you’ve got an older Eclipse Cross, don’t despair — you can access myQ® on 2018-2020 model year vehicles via the My Mitsubishi Connect app. You’ll also need a myQ® connected garage. You can modify your existing garage door opener by installing a myQ Smart Garage™ Hub.
